Last night my husband and I finally watched Jojo Rabbit. I’m no film critic, and I’m sure there are those who love it and those who hate it. All I can say is that I appreciated the attempt and I laughed a lot. What actually made the biggest impact was the quote at the end of the film, a quote by poet Rainer Maria Rilke that felt more timely than ever.
“Let everything happen to you: beauty and terror. Just keep going. No feeling is final.”
Those words on the screen hit me hard. Life is so many things… beauty and terror. Even now when life feels so scary, challenging, and stressful – there is still also beauty every day. We just have to keep going. Do what we can and keep going.
